Five millennia ago, the ancestors of China chiseled immortality from stone. In the dawn of East Asian civilization, artisans of the Hongshan Culture carved a sinuous divine dragon from luminous Xiuyan Jade—a relic now enshrined in the National Museum of China as China’s First Jade Dragon, the primordial wellspring of the dragon totem that defines Chinese identity.
In this singular masterpiece, I have woven two mythic symbols of Middle Kingdom legacy into one:
the Hongshan jade dragon, root of China’s 5,000-year dragon worship;
and the Great Wall, the “Giant Dragon of the Earth,” winding across millennia of history.
Sculpted entirely from precious natural Xiuyan Jade and completed in the propitious Year of the Dragon,
Jade Root • Dragon Vein is far more than a carving.
It is the living pulse of Chinese heritage—the jade root that anchors our past, the dragon vein that courses through our present, a timeless tribute to the unbroken spirit of China.
